Hi Friends,
The final edits of Every Day Filled with Hope have been sent to Elk Lake Publishing and soon, their graphic designer will ask me what I envision for the cover. I’m an amateur at graphic design, but I know if I point her in the right direction she’ll come up with something fabulous. I need your help. Please let me know which design you prefer.
Also, check out the latest version of the back cover copy.
Welcome to Weldon, Kentucky, where no one can keep a secret forever.
Nineteen years ago, a cosmetics industry mogul assaulted former runway model Casey Bledsoe, resulting in an unwanted pregnancy. Casey’s biggest regret is allowing fear to influence her to give up her baby for adoption.
It’s mere days before Casey and Daniel are scheduled to leave Weldon, Kentucky on a mission trip to Africa when Casey receives a letter from Madison, her eighteen-year-old daughter. Hope for healing begins.
Still, Casey grapples with telling those closest to her what really happened. That includes Daniel, the man she loves. Daniel’s a cop, and Casey is afraid of how he’ll react. Little does she know, Daniel has his own secret he’s keeping. As each day passes and they face more trials in the African wilderness, their hidden truths tear them further apart.
If Casey and Daniel don’t learn to trust each other and forgive, there’s no hope their love will hold them together.
I can’t wait to learn which cover you prefer. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I appreciate your support and prayers. Please let me know if you have a prayer request. I love that I have friends traveling with me on this journey.
Warm regards,
Shelia
I lime D. The picket fence.
I like the Daisy #B – it’s like hope is springing forth.
Whatever you pick will be perfect!
Hi Rose,
Thank you for taking the time to review. I love the idea of a flower pushing up through an impossible surface.
I hope you and your family are doing well.
Take care.
Shelia
I like the daisy. Since part
of it is in Africa, I thought the dried mud looked like a drought there. Reminds me of nature shows I’ve seen. The daisy in the dried mud reminds me of hope springing forth. I agree that whichever you choose will be perfect!
Hi Mary,
Thank you for taking the time to review. I love the picket fence, but I love the tulips too. I might ask the graphic designer to incorporate the picket fence and tulips.
I hope you and your family are doing well.
Warm regards,
Shelia
I like the daisy pushing up, but the tulips are so colorful, and always love a picket fence. You’ve got a tough job trying to decide. Can’t wait to read it.
Hi Pam,
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I like the picket fence and tulips. Maybe I can get a cover with both.
Take care,
Shelia
I like the daisy the best, but they are all good.
Hi Pam,
Thanks for sharing your opinion. Many of the readers like the daisy.
I hope you are catching lots of fish.
Hugs,
Shelia
Tulips so uplifting, and reminds me of spring which always help me to look forward that things will get better
I like the Book Cover B – The Daisy. I like it because looking at it, it looks so forlorn, but the daisy is there bringing forth life, and it looks peaceful and so promising.
Hi Eileen,
Thank you for taking the time to reivew. I love the idea of a flower pushing up through an impossible surface.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards,
Shelia
Book cover A The Rose is my favorite option.
Hi Virginia,
Thank you for taking the time to review. My grandmother loved roses, so I think she would choose that option too.
Warm regards,
Shelia
I love the picket fence
Hi Pam,
So many like the daisy, but the photo on this cover is a little bleak. The reader comments have given me so many ideas.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love getting to see Anna in Scottsville. She’s doing a fantastic job. I hope the rest of your family are doing well.
Take care,
Shelia
The tulips.
Hi Kay,
I love the tulips and the picket fence. Maybe I should suggest to the graphic designer she incorporate the tulips and a picket fence.
I hope you are doing well.
Take care!
Warm regards,
Shelia
I vote for C: The Tulips. The bright colors and background best represent hope.
Hi Kathy,
Thank you for taking the time to review. I love the tulips too. I might need to suggest the graphic designer use tulips and a picket fence.
Have a great weekend.
Warm regards,
Shelia
D – Picket Fence
Hi Stacey,
Thank you for taking the time to tell me. I love the picket fence too.
Have a great weekend!
Warm regards,
Shelia
D, that one looks like it was taken in Weldon Kentucky.😊
Hi Pam,
Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I love that you know Weldon.
Have a great weekend!
Warm regards,
Shelia
My favorite is C
Hi Brenda,
Thank you for taking the time to let me know.
Warm regards,
Shelia
I love the daisy. It reminds me of hope rising from ashes.
Hi Pam,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Several readers have liked the daisy, but the photo on the cover is a little bleak. I love the idea of a flower pushing through a difficult barrier. I have so many ideas percolating with all the comments.
I appreciate that you took the time to share your ideas.
Warm regards,
Shelia
I like B,it says hope to me
Hey Shelia, I wish you could go more thematic because I bet there are more Weldon novels in the works, but these are so different from the first one. I like C, but D might eventually be pulled into a picture with the whole house for an overall collection. (And I like it equally well.) I would avoid B as it is rather apocalyptic and belongs more on a sci-fi/fantasy cover.
Hi Bobbie,
Thank you for your feedback. I like the tulips and the picket fence, but you have a great point. The first cover had a navy blue backround and yellow house. Perhaps the designer can develop something with a navy background, yellow tulips with a white picket fence. We’ll see what she thinks.
I appreciate your ideas.
Take care,
Shelia
I would like C to be the cover. The name of the book and your name are so clear and readable.
Hi Regina,
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I love the tulips and the picket fence, as do others. I’m thinking I’ll ask the designer to develop something with the tulips with a picket fence.
Take care,
Shelia
C with the tulips
Hi Juanita,
I love the tulips too. Several like the daisy pushing through the concrete as it inspires hope. Maybe, the designer can come up with something like a tulip pushing through a picket fence.
All the comments have certainly given me more ideas.
Have a great weekend!
Shelia
For pretty, I pick the tulips, however, for the look resembling hope, I go for the daisy.
Hi Ann,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts. I love the tulips too, but I like the idea of a flower pushing up through something difficult. Maybe, the designer can come up with something with tulips, and the fence but still go for hope. Maybe, one tulip push through the pickets of a fence. She has her work cut out for her. The readers’ ideas are certainly making me think.
Have a great weekend.
Warm regards,
Shelia
Book Cover C. Tulip. They haven’t bloomed yet and with hope there is a bloom
Hi Maritza,
I love tulips too. They give me hope when they bloom in the cold spring.
Take care,
Shelia
I like B – The daisy for two reasons. First, it certainly symbolizes hope a little daisy popping up by itself in what looks like barren soil. What could be more hopeful? And second, aesthetically I believe it’s much more pleasing. It is more subdued, and I believe the cover will always look modern and ageless. That would be the cover I would gravitate to amongst all the choices if they were all on a shelf.
Hi Marsha,
Thanks so much for sharing your ideas. I love the idea of a flower overcoming through barren soil or concrete. Several also like the tulips and picket fence. Maybe the designer can add a tulip or spring flower pushing the the picket of a fence. Thanks to the readers, I have all sorts of ideas percolating.
Take Care,
Shelia
I like the Daisy pushing up through the hard dirt. I think it represents hope when we face trials and struggles.
Hi Kathy,
Thank you for sharing your opinion. I love the idea of a flower pushing through concrete. Several also like the tulip and picket fence. I might ask the designer to find a tulip or spring flower pushing through the picket of a fence.
Have a great weekend.
Shelia
C has hopeful colors
D & A are okay
B is lonely and depressing. I think the daisy will get run over by a car or lawnmower or pulled as a weed.
Looking forward to feeding it.
Hi Debbie,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I think the daisy picture is a little sad too, but several like it. I like the idea of a flower pushing through a difficult surface. After all the comments, I think I’ll ask the designer to have a flower, tulip or rose, pushing through one picket of a fence.
Again, I appreciate your thoughtful comments.
Warm regards,
Shelia
Book cover A is my favorite.
Hi Jean,
Thanks for commenting. My grandmother’s name was Rose, so I think she would agree with you.
I appreciate that you took the time to help me.
Warm regarsd,
Shelia
Definitely the daisy, because they are my favorite flower and also, as you and others indicated, it is pushing through a difficult situation. But truly whatever the cover is I want to read this book. I really liked Every Window Filled with Light and have looked forward to this sequel. I would like to know when it will be released.
Hi Ann,
Thanks for sharing your ideas. I’m so glad you enjoyed Every Window Filled with Light. Every Day Filled with Hope will release around March 15. Once the cover is finished, it will be put up for pre-order on Amazon.
I appreciate your encouraging words.
Warm regards,
Shelia
I love the tulips in version C. I think the color of them just screams hope and renewal.
Hi Megan,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I love tulips. I think it will be a combination of tulips and a picket fence.
Take care,
Shelia
Shelia, I like the picket fence the best. I think it goes with your brand the best.
Hi Shirley,
I think the cover will have a picket fence. It’s so…. Weldon.
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
Happy Writing!
Shelia
Book cover C with the beautiful tulips is my favorite. It seems to represent joy and healing.
Hi Deb,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I love the tulips too.
Take care,
Shelia
I believe the daisy in the midst of unlikely chances of survival depicts the title and storyline well! It may not be the most attractive flower or the brightest, happiest looking colors, but isn’t that just like real life?
