When so many readers demanded to know what happened next with Emma and Luke, I started writing the third Weldon novel. However, from the very first scene, Carson Williams took over the story.

Carson, who suffers from PTSD, visits his deceased mother’s hometown of Weldon, KY. The small town charm and atmosphere create a deep yearning in Carson, and he thinks Kentucky is the perfect place for a new beginning. He hopes the country life will lead to his emotional healing.

While Carson is having lunch at the local diner with Sparky Compton, a young doctor who’s captured his heart, Virginia Willoughby collapses. Sparky springs into action, but Carson struggles to maintain control of his emotions. Mrs. Willoughby’s daughter, Emma Baker, arrives, and the magnetic pull of Emma’s gaze confuses Carson. She reminds him of someone, but who? Later, Emma wonders why she can’t stop thinking about the mysterious stranger when her heart belongs to Pastor Luke Davis.

Meanwhile, Luke is called to preach at a revival on the other side of the state when his longtime mentor and friend, Pastor Bob, falls ill. This derails Luke’s plans to propose to Emma. It seems nothing has gone right since Luke purchased the engagement ring. Perhaps this is God’s way of telling him to wait.

Someone’s darkest secrets will be revealed, and these concealed truths will impact both Carson and Emma. The secret keeper should have known better because no one can keep a secret forever in Weldon.

I hope you fall in love with Carson and his story, as well as the rest of the colorful residents of Weldon. One thing is for certain: in Weldon, when tragedy strikes, everyone comes running to help their neighbors.

Even though this is the third Weldon novel, and it features many of the same characters readers love, it stands alone. So, if you’re new to Weldon, you can start with this book.

See below the reviews of a few of my author friends.

“In Every Life Filled with Purpose, Shelia Stovall shares another inspiring story about the people in the little town of Weldon, Kentucky. The characters start to feel like family and friends as you read about the challenges and joys of life they face in the story. You will wish you could invite them over for coffee or tea and some fried raspberry pies while they share their stories and their faith.”—Ann H. Gabhart, bestselling author of The Song of Sourwood Mountain.

“Shelia Stovall once again dazzles with a story of forgiveness and hope. Every Life Filled with Purpose will tug on your heartstrings … a beautiful story of healing for those who have suffered and emerged victorious.” —Tara Johnson, Carol and Christy nominated author of Engraved on the Heart.

“Shelia Stovall hits another home run with her third Welden, Kentucky novel, Every Life Filled with Purpose. Eclectic characters with deep secrets and emotional baggage transform from unforgiveness and anger to peace and purpose through the love of a tight-knit community and the gospel message. Deep characterization, gentle humor,  Southern small-town charm coalesce into a gem you won’t want to put down. Small town Christian fiction at its best!” —Sally Burbank, Author of Ladies in Lab Coats Series

“Shelia Stovall’s latest literary trip to the small town of Weldon is a gem that so beautifully fulfills the purpose of Christian fiction—that is, to show how people of faith live and love through the ups and down of life, shining a light of hope for others to follow. Wonderfully true-to-life characters, with just the right touch of humor and whimsy to make you smile. Fabulous!” —Tama Fortner, Award-winning author of over sixty books.

“Every Life Filled with Purpose is a story about real people with real families who struggle with real issues. By the end of this book Carson, Luke, Emma, Harley, and the community that surrounds them are people I would love to hang out with. Throughout misunderstandings, challenges, tragedy, and touches of humor, Shelia Stovall weaves a tale of the hope and healing forgiveness can bring. If you are looking for a book that mimics life—the good, the bad, and the ugly—with characters who unapologetically lean on and talk about Jesus, look no further than Every Life Filled with Purpose.” —Suzie Waltner, author, Midnight Blue

Every Life Filled with Purpose is a delightful read that displays Southern hospitality at its best. Its setting is a place where a unique blend of characters are treated like family as they walk through the mayhem of life. It is a place where those wounded find hope and broken hearts are mended. Do yourself a favor and visit Weldon, Kentucky, through the pages of Shelia’s latest novel.” —Shirley Gould, author of The African Skies Series.
