I have been studying the craft of writing and one suggestion that keeps coming up is to join a writers’ group.  I’m thrilled to say that I joined the Middle Tennessee Christian Writers. We meet on the second Saturday of each month.  Author members include: Jodi Bailey, Patrick Carr, Kaye Dacus, Kyle Dickerson, Kathy Harris, Tamara Leigh, Krista Phillips and Jen Stephens.  Last Saturday’s session was led by the Kaye Dacus who is an accomplished writer and has published 15 novels.  Check out MTWG by going to www.mtcw.wordpress.com.  If you attend a meeting, there is no obligation or pressure to join.  I can assure you that you’ll discover a warm group of talented professionals who are supportive and willing to share their expertise.

On Monday, June 17, I’ll be meeting a group of writers that meet at the Bowling Green Public Library every other month. I’m excited to have the opportunity to meet others who are on the same journey.

I’m working on another short story to be entered into a contest sponsored by The Saturday Evening Post called The Barber’s Sanctuary.  I hope to be sharing it with you soon. Kentucky Monthly is also sponsoring a contest but the deadline is not until August. I hope to post a draft of a story I’m beginning to see take shape. It think it will be titled Tobacco Barn Thanksgiving.

My first novel is being edited and I’m like a “cat on a hot tin roof.” Pray for Jodi Chavez as she points me in the right direction.

Until I post again, may God bless you and bless those whom you love.
