Every Day Filled with Hope was released last week and the first reviews are in. Happy sigh. You have no idea of the sleep I’ve lost over this novel. Casey didn’t want to go to Africa and I didn’t want to go to the places this story sent me. A writer friend advised me to just change the parts that made me uncomfortable, but I couldn’t do it. When I’m writing, it’s like someone is telling me a story and I’m simply the one transcribing it.  No one was more shocked than I to realize how broken Casey is in the story, plus the other things that made me squirm. The characters God gives me are always deeply flawed, just like me, my family, and my friends.  Last year, one Amazon reviewer wrote, “The characters are so raw and real…”  And the same is true for the characters in this novel.

I hope you’ll feel encouraged and lifted up when the last page is read.  I hope you will trust my writing, as I am trusting God that I’ve been true to the story He gave me.

More than once, I’ve whined to Him that I’m going to receive caustic reviews, and He reminded me, I was killed for your transgressions. There might be only one person who needs to read this book, and that’s enough.  My friend Kay who is a woman of strong faith wrote, “I just finished reading it. It addressed some sensitive issues in a positive way and showed Christianity in dealing with them.”  Kay, you have no idea how your words encouraged me and helped me sleep all night long. Thank you.

I’ll be at the Green County Public Library in Greensburg, Ky on Saturday, April 9, at 10:00 am and at the Decorating Centre in Scottsville, KY on Saturday, April 23 from 10:00 am – Noon. If you live in the area, I hope to see you there.  The Gallery on the Square in Franklin, KY will also be carrying my book.

Please consider asking your local public library to purchase copies of my books.

Thank you for all you do to support my writing efforts, and please consider writing a review. All reviews (even 1-star reviews) help sell books. But please, don’t give away too much and spoil the story for others.

For those who have not had the opportunity to order my book and you are wondering what you’re missing, click on the book jacket to see the first chapter.

Thank you for your prayers last week. I felt them.  May God bless you and those you love.

Warm regards,

Shelia
