I’m excited to announce Elk Lake Publishing will release the second Weldon novel, Ever Day Filled with Hope, around March15, 2022. See below the first draft of the back-cover copy.
Welcome back to Weldon, Kentucky, where no one can keep a secret forever.
Nineteen years ago, the owner of a prestigious cosmetics company assaulted former supermodel Casey Bledsoe, resulting in an unwanted pregnancy. Casey’s biggest regret is allowing fear to influence her to give up her baby for adoption. When she receives a letter from Madison, her eighteen-year-old daughter, hope for healing begins.
The folks in the small town of Weldon, Kentucky, will be shocked to learn about Madison. Still, the reason Casey grapples with telling those closest to her the truth is because she fears her assailant will discover he has a daughter and come after her.
That includes telling Daniel, a policeman in love with Casey…and he has his own secret, which leads him to distance himself from her.
If Casey and Daniel don’t learn to trust each other and to forgive, their relationship and hearts will be broken forever.
In my first Weldon novel, Every Window Filled with Light, Casey and Daniel are minor characters, and they’ve just started dating. In Every Day Filled with Hope, it’s a year later. Emma and Luke, the main characters in Every Window Filled with Light, are in the second Weldon novel, but in the background as Luke is now the head pastor at Loving Chapel. Pastor Bob is retired and leading a short-term mission team to Niger, Africa.
It’s Daniel’s dream to travel to Africa, but Casey’s nightmare. She signed up because she’s jealous of Dr. Sparky, a cute young doctor who recently returned to Weldon to join Dr. Singer’s practice. If you’ve not met Dr. Sparky, download A Fork in the Road, a free novella, from this link. https://dl.bookfunnel.com/rxbsbli9fc
I’ve traveled to Africa several times—five trips to Niger and two to Kenya in the last decade. While in Africa, I pondered which of my Weldon characters was the least likely to end up on the mission field in Niger. Casey won hands down. As the story unfolded, I remember telling my husband I had no idea Casey was so broken. He just shook his head.
More news about the release will be coming your way soon.
Thank you to everyone who reviewed Every Window Filled with Light on Amazon. Thus far, of the 116 Amazon reviews, 100 of them are five-star. To God be the glory. Much credit goes to my fabulous editors, Jamie Clarke Chavez, Michele Chynoweth, and Deb Haggerty. If you’ve read Every Window Filled with Light, please consider leaving a review, even if it’s just marking the stars. All reviews help market books. Thank you for considering.
Next week, I hope to show you samples of cover designs. I hope you’ll share your opinions.
This week it thrilled me to learn three book clubs selected Every Window Filled with Light and asked me to join them for the discussion. I’ll visit two groups in person and one group via Zoom. If you’d like me to visit your book club, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I am also happy to speak with church groups. I promise not to push my books on people. I speak on the topics of forgiveness and also that God has a good plan for each of us. The only reason I write is to share my faith. I hope and pray the words I write encourage others and might lead them to have a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
I appreciate your support. I pray my books will find their way to the person whose heart will be touched by them. Please let me know if you have a prayer request.
Warm regards,
Shelia

Thank you! For a small place, there’s a lot going on and the match-makers are still at it. 🙂
This sounds so good! Looking forward to getting a copy. Congratulations, Shelia.
Thank you!
Hooooorrrrraaaaayyyyy!! Excited to read about what’s happening in Weldon! Bravo, Shelia!
Thank you!
Hooray! I can’t wait to read and share!
Thank you!
I look forward to reading this!
I also have a prayer request. Please pray for my kidneys to start healing from acute kidney failure. I have been getting dialysis for a few months now, and a heavy dose of prednisone infusion treatments recently. It is pretty rough on my body some days, and doesn’t seem to be helping yet. I also get a lot of muscle cramps in my hands, wrists, feet and back, and that is the most difficult part. Thank you for your prayers!!!
I’ve added you to my prayer list. May God meet your needs
and heal you. He knows exactly what you need. Thank you for sharing.
